Artist Statement
My paintings do not convey value judgments onto themselves. In fact, with the exception of the portraits, I try to convey two points of view in each painting. I leave it up to the viewer’s biases to determine what they see in the paintings. It is my hope that I can successfully communicate these ideas through my paintings. For me, clarity of expression can best be achieved by the dramatic combination of strong values, forms, and composition.
